Arhat is the commission an adhati earns for arranging a mandi sale between a farmer and a buyer. In Pakistani mandis it is usually calculated as a percentage of the gross lot value before deductions such as bardana, tulai and market committee fee.

How is arhat calculated?

The common formula is: gross lot value x agreed arhat rate. If a wheat lot sells for PKR 400,000 and the arhat rate is 2%, the commission is PKR 8,000.

Why it matters

Arhat should be shown clearly on the parchi so the farmer, buyer and adhati all see the same settlement. Pakka Khata stores the agreed rate, calculates it automatically and keeps the party ledger updated.
