Farokht (Sale / Selling)·فروخت

Roman Urdu: Farokht / Farukht

Farokht is the act of selling in the mandi — a farmer's lot sold through the adhati, or a beopari reselling onward to a mill, exporter, or another market. Each farokht is recorded on a parchi with the daam, quantity, deductions, and net payable, and posts to the party's khata.

Example usage

Example: Farokht (Sale / Selling) is recorded in the daily mandi khata so party balances and settlement details remain clear.

Frequently asked: Farokht (Sale / Selling)

Farokht vs kharidari — what's the difference?+
Farokht is selling (money comes in or a receivable is created); kharidari is buying (money goes out or a payable is created). Every mandi deal is a farokht for one side and a kharidari for the other.
What deductions come off a farokht?+
Typically the arhat fee, market committee fee, bardana, tulai (weighing), labour (palledari), and any kaat for quality or moisture — all shown on the parchi to reach the net payable.
Does a farokht always mean immediate cash?+
No — it can be nakdi (cash now) or udhaar (credit). A credit farokht books a receivable; tracking its aging prevents bad debt.
