Roman Urdu: Mitti / Mittee

Foreign-matter deduction — the percentage of dust, stones, broken grain, husk, or other impurities in a lot. Measured by sample sieving or visual grading. Deducted from the net payable weight, separately from nami and bardana.

What's an acceptable mitti percentage?+

Class A wheat: <0.5% foreign matter. Class B: 0.5–1.5%. Above 2%, the lot gets significantly downgraded or refused.

Is mitti always measured per lot?+

Usually a sample from each lot is checked at intake. Trusted suppliers may get spot-checks rather than per-lot measurement.

Can mitti be cleaned out instead of deducted?+

Yes — modern rice/flour mills run cleaning plants. Some adhatis offer cleaning service and bill it as a separate line on the parchi.
