The open-outcry auction held in mandi where multiple buyers bid for a lot. The adhati conducts the auction, and the highest bid wins. Boli is the traditional Pakistani equivalent of an open market price-discovery mechanism. Most Punjab grain mandis run boli daily at 7–9 AM.

What time does boli usually run?+

Most Punjab grain mandis: 7–10 AM. Vegetable mandis (Lahore Badami Bagh, Multan Vehari Road): 4–7 AM. Fruit mandis often run twice — early morning and late afternoon.

Can boli be conducted digitally?+

Pilot projects exist (Lahore digital mandi) but in-person boli is still the norm. Pakka Khata records the winning bid as the lot's sale rate.

What if no one bids?+

The lot is held over to the next session or moved to a different mandi. Some adhatis buy the lot themselves at a floor price (effectively becoming pakka arhti for that lot).
